Should be here Wednesday. 2019 Corolla Hatchback XSE with the 6 speed and the spoiler. No door trim or bumper protector. Exactly the configuration I have been looking for since I test drove one in May.

In other news I hereby declare myself justified in being an old man yelling at clouds about the death of manual transmissions in new cars.

For those curious the Mini will be headed south to my Dad in MA to be his backup/winter car so that he doesn’t have to subject his BRZ to the salt flats that are MA roads between October and April.

Its way better than a Corolla has any right to be and the engineer in me loves how well thought out it is. It’s going to be a good long termer for me.

Speaking of, my dad’s XC70 was spewing copious amounts of fuel onto the floor of his garage earlier this week. Apparently the fuel filter rusted through. I can believe it, I took a peek at the new one when I stopped by today, and the bracket holding it in place looks like it’s been in the ocean for a decade.

Turns out the spoiler is already on the car according to the dealer it is at’s description. It just wasn’t listed on the spec sheet I was given on Thursday. If it turns out it isn’t installed I’ll have them install one at the first oil change.

Awesome congrats! That’s an amazing color, I’m glad you got exactly what you were looking for, forget the haters that’s a great car. Maybe if they ever add android auto I’ll consider one too, although I’ve been a Mazda guy most of my life.

When I had to switch to Verizon I jumped ship to iPhone instead of getting a Pixel 3XL because it had CarPlay instead of Android Auto.
